Vermont IRC Inspection

Effective 10/1/2022, the Vermont Department of Health requires annual Inspection, Repair and Cleaning (IRCs) inspection of all rental properties and child care facilities built before 1978. This law replaces the previous EMP inspection. This inspection is similar to the EMPs in that it is a visual inspection check for the presence of deteriorated paint, visible dust and paint chips, window well inserts, and proper occupant notification.

EverGreen is RRPM certified to perform minor renovation work to get your property into compliance.

If you own a property that is subject to IRCs, a full Lead Inspection(hyper link to Lead inspections) of the property would need to be completed to request exemption from annual IRC inspections. This would serve as proof that no lead based paint exist on the exterior and interior of the property.
